Long Live the MARD
The Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) was founded in 1986. It was established to address the challenges faced by resident doctors working in government and municipal corporation-run hospitals across Maharashtra. Over the years, MARD has played a crucial role in advocating for the rights and welfare of resident doctors, negotiating better working conditions, stipend hikes, and improved facilities.
MARD has been instrumental in organising strikes and protests to highlight the issues faced by resident doctors, such as long working hours, lack of proper hostel accommodations, and inadequate support systems. The association has also been involved in various initiatives to improve the overall working environment for resident doctors, ensuring they can provide quality care to patients while maintaining their own well-being.
